Eating a healthy breakfast sets the tone for the rest of your day.
If you skip breakfast you prolong your overnight fast which can send your body into survival mode. NOT GOOD!
Eating a healthy breakfast will fuel you with energy and help you think more clearly.
One great option for breakfast is eggs instead of simple carbs like a bagel or muffin. Proteins like eggs will take longer for your body to burn and will therefore keep you fuller longer. Carbs burn quickly and can leave you hungry long before lunch time, leaving you reaching for sugar-laden lattes, sodas or vending machines to get you through. If you must have your caffeine, try a black coffee or a great-smelling tea. There are some awesome varieties out there. My personal favorite is Orchid Vanilla Black Tea by Tea Forte.
If you have a microwave at work you can take my go-to mid-morning snack with you: oatmeal! I love oatmeal with cinnamon and either an apple or banana…and sometimes a few almonds. This will help fuel you and keep you full if you’re a fan of the late lunch. The later I eat lunch the less I feel the 3:00 temptation for sugar.
